CBD and Supplements To Boost Your Immunity Against Coronavirus

CBD and Supplements To Boost Your Immunity Against Coronavirus

In this article I will be looking at ways to help prevent against Coronavirus and others. By using some good common sense practices and also how the use of CBD and supplements can help boost your immunity against Coronavirus.

What is Coronavirus? (COVID-19)

Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans, coronaviruses cause respiratory tract infections that are typically mild, such as some cases of the common cold. There are currently six known strains that affect humans.. Coronaviruses can cause mild to moderate upper-respiratory tract illnesses.

The most common infection is from human coronaviruses 229E, NL63, OC43, and HKU1. The much publicized human coronavirus, SARS-CoV, which causes severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, has a unique pathogenesis because it causes both upper and lower respiratory tract infections and can also cause gastroenteritis. The six human coronaviruses are: alpha coronaviruses 229E and NL63, and beta coronaviruses OC43, HKU1, SARS-CoV (SARS), and MERS-CoV (the coronavirus that causes Middle East Respiratory Syndrome or MERS).

However, some of the strains can be fatal such as SARS or COVID-19, etc. Currently, we are experiencing the COVID-19 outbreak. The virus spread from people to people (mammals to be exact) through droplets that come from coughing or sneezing. You can actually attract the virus from some of the surface or in the air but most likely not because it needs a host to survive.

What Are The Symptoms To Watch For? Know The Difference Between Flu and Coronavirus

The main symptoms of Coronavirus (Covid- 19) are fever, cough and shortness of breath.

The symptoms are most often high fever, dry cough, and shortness of breath or fatigue. So, basically it is a flu-like symptom but what is scary is that it can lead to complications that can progress to pneumonia and multi-organ failure. That has been the main cause of death, it is from an organ failure.

The incubation period (the time between infection and symptom onset) ranges from one to fourteen days; it is most commonly five days. However, in one extremely rare case, it had an incubation period of 27 days

Of those who died from the disease, the time from development of symptoms of COVID-19 to death has been shown to range between 6 and 41 days, with a median of 14 days.

Note the Flu symptoms are very different

Majority Of All Persons Will Recover

We are currently in a very infectious colds and flu season. If you are sick with one of those does not mean you have COVID-19. There are similarities between all the viruses. Some are more serious than others but they have many things in common like how you can be infected and prevent them.

Nobody likes getting sick but it is an unavoidable problem seeing how we live in a world that is filled with all kinds of viruses 365 days a year. For example, the flu virus is active and strong every single day of the year but most people only get infected between the months of September to April. Boost your immunity against the Coronavirus it is the best place to start.

COVID-19 has only three well defined symptoms, which maybe one of the reasons why the majority of infections have been mild with those not within the high risk factors group. Notice the one symptom COVID-19 has that the flu does not have is shortness of breath.

Unless you are within one of those higher risk groups ie. (underlying medical condition, elderly age, weak immune system), you have a high percentage of recovering just fine IF you should get COVID-19. Plus you can do a lot to boost your immunity now and have the ability to protect yourself from even getting it.

There is an old saying… “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Ramp up your immune system. This alone is the strongest act of prevention you can do because it will also make your symptoms milder and recovery quicker, should you get infected. There is hope but you must be proactive.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure is the golden rule.

Now is the time to ramp up your immune system. This alone is the strongest act of prevention you can do because it will also make your symptoms milder and recovery quicker, should you get infected. There is hope but you must be proactive. Proactive means hand washing! Can not stress this enough. Wash Your Hands!

Wash your hands often and /or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer after touching surfaces that are often touched by others like door handles, counter tops, gasoline nozzles,… Hand wash for at least 20 seconds no less.

Hand Sanitizers Vs Hand Washing

They both work in a different method. Hand sanitizer’s purpose is to kill the virus whilst hand washing is removing the virus out of your hands and down the drain, does that make sense?

However, hand sanitizers can only kill so much germs on your hands, they do not kill all the germs 100%. But, it is the most effective and the most convenient way to kill the virus on your hands when you do not have the access to a sink and a soap to wash your hands.

Hands down the best method is to wash your hands with soap. Sing the happy birthday song while you are washing your hands it takes around 20 seconds.

Avoid shaking hands

It is just for now. Just do the elbow shake instead so you are not exposed to the coronavirus.

Do not touch your face, eyes or nose

This one is hard for me because it is a habit that we all have. Just be mindful and stop the urge to scratch your eyes or nose in public.

Stay away from people who are sneezing and coughing

This is why a majority of people do not get the flu between May to August when our blood is naturally at 70 ng/mL from the sun of the Spring and Summer months. Once the Fall and Winter months arrive, our bodies stop making vitamin D3 and supplementing with it is critical to reach optimal levels.

I also take a very powerful antiviral / antibacterial / antimicrobial spice in capsules known as Turmeric. Curcumin is the main phytochemical in Turmeric and it has a well researched and a wide medicinal benefit beyond it being an antiviral against all types of viruses. Turmeric has been used since before Jesus.

CBD Oil

Full spectrum CBD oil with all of the cannabinoids as well as hemp seed oil. Together they are a superior combination. The seed oil is high in Omega fatty acids which helps our bodies absorb the cannabinoids. CBD is known to offer anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Helps boost immunity by balancing the bodies own endocannabinoid system .(ECS) You can read more information here Understanding what CBD is

I do not get my vitamin C from supplements, unless it is part of my daily multivitamin which everyone should be taking regardless. The bulk of my vitamin C comes from the raw fruits and vegetables I like to eat. Apples, Oranges, Grapes, Berries, Melons, Carrots, Broccoli, Cauliflower & Leafy Greens.

When it comes to antioxidants Alpha Lipoic Acid is considered a Super Antioxidant. Why? All antioxidants are either Fat-Soluble (stored in the body longer) or Water-Soluble (not stored in the body). Alpha Lipoic Acid is a re-generator that is both water and fat-soluble.

I take all of these on a daily basis as a preventative and to keep my own immune system boosted. I have not had even one cold in over 3 years now.The fact that I am mid age and with a pre existing condition (asthma) that is saying something.

Above all else WASH YOUR HANDS! Coronavirus or not an ounce of prevention is still the best defense!!

  2. Particularly, one thing we have all ensured since the outbreak of the  covid-19 is to ensure we take more proper care of our immune system and one of the best ways I have done that is through the use of supplements. Though I am still sceptical about too much reliance on cbd oil but I can confirm that it has really been a good help and I would say I can feel the difference in my body health altogether

    1. Even though I do use cbd oil particularly the 3500 mg every day myself. Like you I do not rely on the oil solely. I believe the cbd oil is a hugh part of optimizing our health and our bodies endocannaboid system however. When taken on a regular basis along with other lifestyle changes IE. diet, exercise and the right balance of vitamins. Our bodies and mind become more balanced and we become less dependant on pain relievers.
